After bringing her daughter home, Demi quickly realized there was an entire side of new parenthood no one had prepared her for. Between confusing paperwork, important deadlines, and three separate trips to the passport office, one thought kept coming back: there has to be an easier way. Baby On Board was created to be that easier way for the parents who come next.
IT STARTED WITH A MISSED DEADLINE.
Baby On Board was created from one mom’s “there has to be an easier way” moment.
"When I brought my daughter home, I was physically recovering, emotionally overwhelmed, and learning how to be a mom for the first time. Every day felt like a blur. The last thing on my mind was navigating government websites, keeping track of deadlines, or figuring out which documents my baby needed.
And yet, that is exactly what new parents are expected to do. You leave the hospital with a stack of papers and somehow you are supposed to know what comes next while running on little sleep and adjusting to one of the biggest changes of your life.
That experience made me realize how many families are left to figure this part out on their own. I knew there had to be a simpler way to help parents feel prepared, without taking their attention away from the baby right in front of them."
"NO ONE PREPARES YOU FOR THIS PART."
- DEMI, FOUNDER
After one of those passport appointments, I remember sitting in the car thinking, Why is this so hard? I had searched online, read government websites, and pieced together information from so many different places, yet I still felt like I was guessing.
I kept thinking about how helpful it would have been to have one trusted resource that simply told me what I needed, when I needed it, and where to keep everything once it was done.
So I created the resource I wish someone had handed me when we brought our daughter home.
THERE HAD TO BE AN EASIER WAY.
Know what needs to be done, when it needs to happen, and what comes next, so you can spend less time worrying about paperwork and more time with your baby.
